1. Purpose and scope
This Privacy Policy explains how International Auctioneers Group and the specific company in its group that provides the relevant service (together, “we”, “us” or “our”) collect, use, disclose, retain and protect personal information. It applies to internationalauctioneersgroup.com, our online auction and bidder-registration services, and our related live public and sealed-bid auction activities.
International Auctioneers Group is a group brand. The company named in the relevant auction notice, bidder terms, contract, invoice or online-platform notice is the data controller for that activity. Where more than one group company is involved, we will identify the responsible entity in the applicable notice or agreement.
2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with us. It may include identity and contact information; account and verification information; auction information; payment and transaction information; client and asset information; technical and usage data; and communications you send to us. This may include names, addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, identification or company-registration details, login credentials, bidder registration records, deposit status, bids placed, invoices, payment confirmations, IP addresses, device and browser information, cookies, log files, enquiries and support requests.
3. Why we use your information
We use personal information only where we have a legitimate reason to do so, including to operate the website, online bidding platform and auction services; register and verify bidders; manage deposits; record bids; identify successful bidders; collect payments; issue refunds; and arrange asset release or handover. We also use information to perform contracts, meet legal and audit obligations, prevent fraud, communicate auction notices and updates, and improve our services. We will seek consent where applicable law requires it, particularly for non-essential cookies or direct marketing.
4. Online bidding, sealed bids and live auctions
Our online auction services are designed to maintain a clear, timestamped record of activity. For online live auctions, we may record bid amounts, bidder identity, bid timestamps, bid increments, platform logs and the final result. For online sealed-bid auctions, bid amounts are kept confidential from other bidders until the stated opening or closing procedure, subject to the auction terms and applicable law. For live public auctions, we may record attendee registration, deposit confirmation, offers made, the highest bidder, payment status and release records.
5. When we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may share it only when necessary with the asset owner, seller, client or authorised representative; payment providers, banks, mobile-money providers, insurers, logistics providers, customs agents, warehouses, valuers, professional advisers and technology providers; government, regulatory, tax, customs, law-enforcement or judicial authorities; auditors, investigators and advisers; and a successor organisation if we restructure, merge, sell or transfer all or part of our business. Service providers may process information only on our instructions and must protect it appropriately.

Our work may involve buyers, clients, technology providers and service partners in different countries. Our services are intended for adults and authorised business representatives. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for online bidding or auction participation. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate authorisation, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
12. Third-party links and services
Our website or auction notices may link to third-party websites, payment services, social-media platforms or partner services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties that we do not control.
